Graffiti hurts communities by lowering property values, scaring residents, and promoting street gangs to local youth. In addition, graffiti and gang tags drive away consumers – meaning fewer neighborhood businesses and fewer nearby employment opportunities.
The Fresno Police Department’s Graffiti Bureau is responsible for the removal of graffiti and the arrest and prosecution of
graffiti vandals. In fact, the Graffiti Abatement Team, an essential component of the Bureau, has a 95.9% removal rate within 24 hours of graffiti notification.
